A beautiful disaster
"Next!" Ken said, yawning.
"What? We're only half way through-" Minh Tuyet complained.
"Do I need to hear your idiotic song again? I don't have enough cotton balls to stop my ears from bleeding!" Ken replied.
Marie had to interfere, "But don't you think you need to take a look at the whole song to make sure everything's right?"
Ken: Are you telling me how to do my job? Does Marie thinks she's Ms. Director now?
Marie made no reply. She looked like she was going to snap back at him, but nothing happened. After weeks of rehearsing, she still could not find a way to put up with this director. She regretted listening to that recommendation. But the last time she got in his way, he threatened to quit, and she knows too well that once he does, so will his crew. They worshiped him like their god, something she didn't and would never understand. Since a show could not happen without any crew, Marie gestured for Minh Tuyet listen to the director and get off stage.
----------------------------
Minh Tuyet furiously entered backstage and went to look for her friends. She finally found Nhu Loan and LTQ, none looking too happy and are both very quiet. Nhu Loan was reading a magazine and LTQ was watching TV out of what seemed like a century old device. There was also someone sitting in the corner of the room, reading a Korean newspaper that covered up his face.
Minh Tuyet approached Nhu Loan and asked, "Who's that man?"
"Who?" Nhu Loan jumped a little, and then realized who Minh Tuyet was talking about, "Oh... I don't know. He was here when I stepped in."
she went ahead and asked the stranger, "Hey, who are you?"
He made no reply.
Minh Tuyet was losing her patience. "Hey, you! Can you hear me?"
Without even thinking, Minh Tuyet walked toward the stranger and snatched the newspaper out of his hand. The stranger, alarmed, quickly look down to hide his face. He wore a hat and altogether, made it still impossible to see his face. Minh Tuyet didn't hesitate to snatch the hat off as well. He kept turning away from her but was impossible for her to not see his face now.
"Kieu! What are you doing?!?" Minh Tuyet asked in surprise. "Woa..."
"Yea I now. Don't say it. I know. Don't laugh either!"
It was useless. Minh Tuyet was already laughing hysterically. Interrupted by her laughter, Nhu Loan and LTQ looked up to see what was so funny. And even though they heard what Bang Kieu said about not laughing, they laughed anyway.
Bang Kieu's face turned red and as he was about to stand up and walk out of the room, Marie stepped in. She didn't laugh, but had an unpleasant look on her face,
"WHAT IN THE WORLD DID YOU DO TO YOUR EYEBROWS?!?"
"The stupid director made me! And there was an accident at the waxing place. It's your fault. You should've let me borrow the translator!" Bang Kieu said in his defense.
Marie couldn't help but stare at the, barely visible, thin lines, that are now Bang Kieu's eyebrows.
"YOU LOOK RIDICULOUSLY FEMININE!"
"Ahh don't even go there!"
But the nightmare didn't end there for Bang Kieu. He knew sooner or later he'll have to go onstage and then he'll have to face all his coworkers and all the audiences. He felt like choking the director to death.
